  Come enjoy a fun evening where you can try out printmaking! This event is an informal activity where you will learn the basics of screenprinting. Screenprinting is the process of pushing ink through mesh to transfer your design. We will use paper stencils and screenfiller to create our designs.

  All materials and tools will be provided for the class.

  Woodcut is the oldest form of relief printmaking. In this one day workshop, students will learn the basics of woodcut printmaking, including transferring an image to a block, various approaches to carving, and producing a series of prints.

  All materials and tools will be provided for the class.  

  This class can be repeatedly taken, allowing you to have a new found understanding of the process each time!

  Two-Day Linocut Workshop

  Class Location: CREATE Community Studios, 70 Beekman St, Saratoga Springs

  Learn how to create a series of prints by creating your own linoleum block cut. This course is an introduction to relief printing using a press. Students will learn how to pare down an image and create a two-tone version. Beginners will be given all the instruction necessary to start printing using a press while intermediate and advanced students will be encouraged to explore layered and multi color relief printing. Beginning drawing skills is a plus, but not required.

  All materials and tools will be provided for the class.  

  This class can be repeatedly taken, allowing you to have a newfound understanding of the process each time!

  An introduction to monotype using a simple folded paper mask process to explore color layering, Learn to mix colors with non-toxic Akua Inks, work intuitively with mask placement to achieve a pleasing composition for your monotype, then be delighted by unfolding the mask to reveal a unique and spontaneous second monotype, Work freely, adding additional masks, stencils and mark- making for subsequent prints. Fun class for all levels.

  This class is able to be taken again to gain a new found understanding of the process each time.

  Come enjoy a fun evening where you can try out printmaking! This event is an informal activity where you will learn the basics of Tetra Pak intaglio. Reusing tetra pak package (think the containers chicken stock comes in!) we will scratch and cut into the surface to draw an image. Then we will card and wipe ink onto the plate. Finally, we will put it through the printing press to reveal our prints!

  Learn the very basics of drypoint intaglio on plexiglass! Drypoint intaglio is a technique where you draw directly onto a plate using an etching needle. You will learn how to translate your drawings to a plexiglass plate and see a demo of the steps to printing a plate. You will leave we a few prints of your plate!

  All materials and tools will be provided for the class.

  Jigsaw linocut is a method of creating multi colored prints with only 1 linoleum block! Jigsaw linocut works by cutting your block into multiple pieces, inking them separately, then putting them back together when you print! In this workshop, you will learn how to carve your linoleum, how to cut your block into pieces, and how to print. 

  Open to all skill levels!
