  Candles 'n Cocktails-Valentine's Day

  This is a DIY workshop on how to make your own soy wax candles by measuring out your choice of fragrance, hand pouring all natural soy wax and designing your own label.

  You will also create beeswax taper candles and a decorated votive candle holder with candles. Use them as gifts or keep them for yourself.

  All supplies for this class will be provided. Cocktails are not provided, but we invite you to bring a cocktail or beverage of your choice to enjoy during the session.

  Make your favorite animals out of construction paper! This class will teach you how to simplify shapes, and how to connect them to make your own cute animal! We will talk about how to add different textures, how to play with color, and how to make them their own little home!

  All ages welcome. Students under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

  Bennett Kimble-Lee is an Illustrator based out of Saratoga Springs, New York. His work mixes bold, bright colors with lighthearted subject matter. Bennett recently graduated from Lesley Art + Design and is happy to be back home. His most recent works revolve around animals, with a focus on recognizable designs and eye-catching colors.   Beads have served various purposes across cultures for centuries, including roles in meditation and prayer, as tools for counting and tracking, and as objects to engage and calm the mind.

  Participants are invited to explore aspects of this rich history and will create their own set of glass beads, suitable for meditation or personal enjoyment.

  About the Instructor
  

  I work with glass and stone beads to create nontraditional rosaries, meditation beads, fidgets, and memory aids, and I strongly believe in finding ways to bring beauty and ritual to everyday life. I have worked as a teacher, educational program coordinator, and multimedia communicator, and have professional experience in the performing arts. I have been an educator and an artist in parallel for most of my life, and I am excited to now be merging those two passions. I am new to the Capital Region (formerly of North Carolina) and loving it here.
