Artist Statement 

ARTIST STATEMENT:                                                      

Liz is an abstract artist. Her work invokes emotion and invites the viewer to ask questions. Her work plays with color and texture. The main intention of each piece is to show joy in visual form. Liz’s work always tells a story be it imaginative, emotional, or sensual.

                                                           

ARTIST BIO:                                               

Liz Coleman was born and raised in upstate New York. Her interest in art and painting began as a young child and developed further while attending Syracuse University. After graduation, she found inspiration living in NYC, Washington, DC and southern CT. Although she has a rich background in various art forms, her creative journey led her to find passion in abstract painting. Abstract allows for the opportunity to captivate viewers and give each person something unique to discover within her expressive works. Mainly, influenced by Richter and Pollack, her work defies categorization, as each piece stands as a testament to its own distinctive narrative. Often wielding acrylic, ink and pastel on canvas, Liz weaves a tapestry of creativity. Her artistic philosophy revolves around the joy of experimentation with diverse techniques and mediums inviting viewers to embark on a visual journey filled with discovery and delight. Products and services offered include; original paintings on canvas, and commissioned pieces, for home, business, staging and commercial spaces.
