KIDS SUMMER ARTS PROGRAM |
|
We are excited to partner with Saratoga Independent School Summer 2025! While our building is under renovations, our Kids Summer Art Program will be hosted at the Independent School, 459 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY. |
Our Kids Summer Art Program has a Choice-Based/TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) art making approach that emphasizes YOU ARE THE ARTIST! Have fun experimenting with various materials and techniques to create art inspired by your ideas, life experiences and passions. It will be your choice of subject, materials, timeframe and workflow. Explore 2D art (drawing, painting, collage, printmaking), 3D art (mixed media, sculpture, clay, fiber arts), and digital art (photography, digital drawing, animation on personal devices) Emphasis on the Artistic Process: Idea, Plan, Create and Reflect using the 8 Studio Habits of Mind which will help you grow as an artist through the daily use of sketchbooks, written artist statements, titles, framing and a portfolio. The TAB philosophy is the belief that the "child is the artist, the classroom is their studio, and explores the question: what do artists do?" All materials and tools will be provided for the camp including a sketchbook and portfolio. |
*Bring a water bottle and snacks each day Max weekly enrollment is 8 students for each grade section. Registration is by grade levels for the morning session. Our afternoon session is a combined class. |
