Artist Statement

After 24 years, Debbie retired from the New York State Department of Health working as a public health nutritionist with a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan.  Her career always focused on maternal and child/infant health.  Since retiring, she has taken multiple drawing, acrylic, gel print, and watercolor classes to learn techniques to use in her artwork with watercolor as her favorite medium.  She has also expanded her photography work.  She has gained experience selling her artwork at local shops/galleries and art shows in the Capital Region.

She has always loved art.  For years, she made greeting cards for relatives and friends as a creative outlet while working full-time.  Her cards and framed paintings and photography showcase her love of nature especially flowers, birds, animals and landscapes.
