Artist Statement

I began painting and drawing in early childhood. Today, I primarily paint in oils but enjoy working in watercolor. In addition to those mediums, I draw in pencil, charcoal and pen and ink and use linoleum blocks to carve and make prints.

My subject matter has changed over the years and I usually work from photographs that I have taken or paint and draw in plein air. In this group, my photographer friend Tina M. DeVincenzo has graciously shared photos she took during a recent trip to Italy. Tina’s photos inspired Tranquility; Oranges; and A View in Italy.

I enjoy taking art classes and creating while in the company of other artists. Their interpretations are inspiring and educational to me.

I hope you enjoy the exhibit!
