Our Art Tours are arranged by supporters and partners Edventures. All travelers will receive a free one-year membership to Saratoga Arts; travelers who are already members will receive a free membership renewal.

This ever popular, year-end show is a great opportunity for any artist to show their work during one of Saratoga Arts’ busiest times thousands of people visit our galleries in November and December - you just have to be a member! Chasing Charles examines the life of Charles Elsen, a native of Schenectady, NY, a world class Wig Designer and Makeup Artist and his death in 1985 from spinal meningitis complicated by AIDS.  After a failed career as an opera tenor Charles (played by Matt DeMarco LAGS Cabaret) started his own company, Charles Elsen & Co., with longtime friend Dennis (Played by J.J. Buechner).  Charles’ mother Angela (played by Ann Milliken and Melissa Putterman-Hoffman in rotation) with Dennis and Edward (played by Oliver Ord, LAGS Cabaret, Company), a fellow associate at Charles Elsen & Co., witness the rise of Charles’ career and his hypersexual lifestyle in the pre-AIDS New York City gay culture including his turbulent long term relationship with Brian (played by Christopher Malatesta, LAGS The Normal Heart, Rent) a young street wise man from the Midwest. Rounding out the cast are Chad Radock (LAGS Company) and Liz Sterling (LAGS Company).

Saratoga Arts' Soiree

Longfellows Restaurant - The night will be filled with great food, conversation and live music by Hot Club of Saratoga. The heart of the evening will be the presentation of Saratoga Arts’ 4th Annual Community Arts Leadership Award. This year we are proud to honor Yaddo President, Elaina Richardson.
