Saratoga Program for Arts Funding (SPAF)
For Non-Profits, Municipalities, Government Entities, and Individual Artists in Saratoga County

In 2014, Saratoga Arts awarded $39,9000 for arts,cultural, and in-school programming in communities throughout Saratoga County.

Saratoga Arts offers the following three grant opportunities in Saratoga County:

Artist Grants I Project Grants I Arts Education Grants

SPAF Artist Grants
Artist Grants in the amount of $2,500 each are awarded to individual artists for the creation of new work that engages local communities in the creative process. In 2014 Saratoga awarded one Artist Grant in Saratoga County in the amount of $2,500. All arts disciplines accepted.

SPAF Project Grants
SPAF Project Grants of $500-$5,000 are awarded to non-profit organizations, municipalities and sponsored individual artists in partnership with qualifying organizations to present arts and cultural programs of high artistic merit in local communities throughout Saratoga County. In 2014 Saratoga Arts awarded $33,200 for SPAF Project Grants.

SPAF Arts Education Grants
AE Grants ranging $500-$3,000 are available to eligible Saratoga County-based non-profit cultural organizations and individual artists in partnership with a public school in Saratoga County. In 2014 Saratoga Arts awarded 3 Arts Education Grants in Saratoga County totaling $4,200.

The basic eligibilty requirements:

  • The lead applicant must be an artist or non-profit cultural organization in Saratoga County
  • If a school is interested in partnering with an artist residing outside of Saratoga County, the artist can be fiscally sponsored by an eligible non-profit organization in Saratoga County
  • The partnering school must be a public school
  • Private and parochial schools are ineligible to apply
  • The proposed project must include three contact sessions between an artist, certified arts teacher, and the same core group of students
  • AE grants cannot fully fund any project's expenses.
