Our Exhibition Program

Saratoga Arts offers a comprehensive exhibition program, including nearly 20 on-site and 80 off-site exhibitions annually.  With nearly 12,000 visitors per year in the Arts Center Gallery, we continue to enrich community through exposure to high quality, current, contemporary art.  Our exhibition program offers opportunities for local, regional and national artists, as well as opportunities for wide-ranging experience levels, from first time exhibitors to artists with a substantial exhibition history in The Arts Center Gallery (featuring local, regional and nationally-known artists' work in our 2,000 square-foot gallery.  All of our opening receptions and discussions with the artists are free and open to the public)  and in our Art In Public Places program, as well as The Gallery Shop.   We also host Art in the Park, our annual outdoor fine art fair with over 70 participating artists.

Discussion with the Artist  |  June 14 at 4:30pm

Miller's paintings are about the phenomenon of time and how it relates to gravity. At first glance, there appears to be no gravity at all with the openness of each composition. Gestural layers begin to suggest fragments of reality, creating a range of tension within the ungrounded space. Whimsical shapes, marks and colors express visual, emotional, sociological or text-based events, working both sub-consciously and consciously.  The resulting chaos becomes a visual fantasy much like a broken puzzle.

David Miller is a former professor of painting at Skidmore College. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Tang.  His paintings are displayed in several museums, and are in numerous corporate and private collections in the U.S. and abroad. In addition, he has received major grant awards including one from the National Endowment for the Arts, and another from the New York Foundation for the Arts.  Miller lives and works near Saratoga Springs, NY.
